Picking Process Automation
We engineer Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS) for automated order picking, integrating goods-to-person (GTP), seed picking, and batch picking methodologies. The system uses high-density shuttle racks, automated shuttles, and conveyor sortation lines, with the warehouse execution system (WES) managing route and task assignment to maximize throughput, reduce picking errors, and accelerate order cycle times.
The goods-to-person (GTP) picking process employs automated shuttle carriers or vertical lift modules (VLMs) to transport SKUs directly to ergonomic packing workstations. WES-driven routing algorithms minimize operator travel, enhance labor productivity, and synchronize with real-time inventory management systems for streamlined fulfillment operations.
Our system architecture supports multi-order batch consolidation via WMS-integrated seed-batching algorithms. It coordinates automated pickers, pick-to-light modules, and zone-based conveyor networks, following dynamic slotting and efficient routing to maximize picking efficiency across warehouse zones.
Automation systems are configured via a centralized warehouse control system (WCS) platform that manages both high-level process flows and low-level equipment commands. The WCS ensures master data accuracy through real-time synchronization with ERP, WMS, and MES platforms.
